Attendance
Senior Campus
PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST VISIT THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE TO SIGN STUDENT OUT OR FILL OUT FORM FOR STUDENT DRIVERS (ONLY) TO ALLOW STUDENT TO LEAVE CAMPUS.
"Better Late Than Never, but Never Late is Better."
If notification of an absence is not made within 48 hours, the absence will be considered unexcused.
Types of Absences:
Unexcused Parent Contact Absence (UPC)
The student is absent for one or more days, and the parent/guardian notifies the school (by phone or email) within 48 hours of the absence. After 48 hours, the attendance code cannot be changed.
This absence counts toward the total number of absences for course credit, state attendance law, and exemption eligibility.
Unexpected Absence (U)
The student is absent for one or more days, and the parent/guardian does not notify the school within 48 hours. After 48 hours, the attendance code cannot be changed.
This absence counts toward the total number of absences for course credit, state attendance law, and exemption eligibility.
Doctor (DOC)
The student is absent, and the parent/guardian provides a doctor’s note to the school within 48 hours of the absence. The note must specify the date(s) of absence for an immediate illness.
Notes covering multiple dates for chronic conditions will not be accepted.
Each note must correspond to an individual office visit.
After 48 hours, the attendance code cannot be changed. This absence counts toward the total number of absences for course credit and state attendance law.
Health Care Professional (HCP)
The student is absent for part of the school day to attend a medical appointment. The parent/guardian or student must provide documentation from the healthcare provider showing the date and time of the appointment.
Because the student attends part of the school day, this absence does not count toward the total number of absences for course credit or state attendance law.
College Visit (CV)
The student is absent to visit a college during the school day. The parent/guardian or student must submit a completed college visit form (district or college-provided) to the attendance office.
Students are allowed up to 2 college visit days total during their junior and senior years.
Additional visits beyond the allowed 2 days will count toward total absences.
Approved college visit absences do not count toward the total number of absences for course credit or state attendance law and do not impact exemption eligibility.
9th Grade Campus
The attendance office is located inside the main office at the glass windows.
We are available from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
