Conroe High School Theatre will present THE VOICE OF THE PRAIRIE by John Olive on October 23, 24, 25, and 27 at 7 PM in the Conroe High School auditorium.
The play centers on a young blind girl named Frankie and her companion Davey. The play moves back and forth in time between 1895 and 1925. In 1925, Davey, now an adult, meets radio salesman Leon Schwab, who hires Davey to tell stories on the radio. On the air, Davey recalls his childhood days with Frankie
and as the radio program becomes more and more popular, Frankie (now Francis) comes back into his life.
The cast includes Tommy Swaim as the grown Davey, with David Tovar as young Davey. Sarah Perry plays Francis, with Isabel Hurtado as young Frankie. Quinn Berry portrays Leon Schwab. Other cast members include Brandin Rodriguez, Tessa Dschaak, Alex Paulsey, Justin Suarez, Alex Martinez, Brianna Mantooth,
Cameron Johnson, Dave Merlo, Duncan Smith, Herbert Felton, Kelley Malin, Megan McDonough, Natalie Holmes, Nikhol Kawszan, Nikolas Atkinson, Patric Allen, Ruby Kincannon, and Victoria Eason.
The play is directed by Becca Babbitt, with Technical direction by Dave Feranchak. It is produced through special arrangement with Samuel French Inc.
